Ontario Issues $8 Billion in Renewable Energy Contracts

In Ontario Canada a company has just announced that it will be putting 8 billion dollars into ways to make renewable energy deals. This deal may be great for the environment but it will cost the people around three hundred dollars more in taxes. The Ontario Power Authoirty, the company which is overseeing the program awarded contracts for 100 megawatts of solar and wind projects to a subsidiary of Invenergy LLC a Chicago company. Ontario plans to add more wind farms to around the area they are in to add to there renewable energy. The plan is to make it so Ontario can slowly phase out the use of coal as there energy.
I think that it is good that a whole province in Canada is taking action to help and save the environment. If we are lucky it will catch on to everywhere in Canada and then to the united states. We just need to hope that Canada will stick with there promise.
