On Tuesday India and China formally agreed to join the international climate change agreement that was reached in December in Copenhagen. India and China now join the other 100 countries that have already joined this agreement. The change agreement is calling for a 2 degree Celsius change in Earths global temperature. In this agreement there was a call for 100 billion dollars to be spent to help developing countries become more environmentally safe. China and India have both said that they will try to voluntarily cut the amount of green house gases that they use to try and slow down the climate warming.
I think that it is good that more and more countries are trying to become more environmentally safe. When more countries see the bigger countries such as China signing the agreement it may make the smaller countries sign it seeing that it is a good idea. It is good to know the we are trying to do something to save our planet.
